Intro to Bookbinding: Notebook
Intro to Bookbinding: Notebook
Sunday, November 10
1:30pm - 3:30pm
Led by Bekah McFarland
Books! They’re everywhere! Let’s learn how to make them.
This class is for bookbinding beginners, zine enthusiasts, notebook lovers, and anyone who loves handcrafts. In this two-hour class, Bekah will walk students through making a notebook, including sewing the text block, gluing up the spine, creating the covers, and attaching the covers. Through the process, Bekah will share how these methods can be used when repairing old books at home or when converting paperbacks to hardcovers, and will happily brainstorm with anyone who wants to apply bookbinding to their art.

Meet Your Facilitator:
Rebekah McFarland is an aspiring hermit who has reluctantly acquiesced to the demands of modern society by becoming a book binder and memory worker. Bekah has three cat familiars and two human partners, and an unruly garden to keep them all in. When not playing video games, squeaking away at the fiddle, or sewing and knitting, Bekah reads books, writes books, and binds books. In terms of books, Bekah is a triple threat.
